The Hebrew calendar, also called the Jewish calendar, is a lunisolar calendar. It determines the dates for Jewish holidays and the appropriate public reading of Torah portions, yahrzeits, and daily Psalm readings, among many ceremonial uses.

Every decade has an overarching theme. The past decade had the theme 'AYIN'. Ayin “70” possesses meaning that sets the stage for the next 9 years.

The New Decade beginning in 2020 ~ 2029 falls under the theme 'PEY' which is the number 80.

2020 = 5780 ~ Pey

2021 = 5781 ~ Pey Aleph
